Product Review: IKEA Trofast
Something both my clients and friends always ask me for are product reviews. What do I use at home or within my services that stand out from the crowd as being a brilliant buy? Well here is where I tell you!
IKEA Trofast Storage System
I’m sure most people across the globe know that IKEA is usually hailed as the ‘go-to’ place for all your interior and storage needs but when I moved into my house 5 years ago I vowed that all my furniture would NOT come from IKEA. I wanted to ensure I was going for quality pieces and also try to find second-hand pieces that would fit in well with my decor.
5 years on and, although I’ve stuck to my guns in some areas of the house, I have come to realise there is a reason IKEA has the reputation they do, and so many loyal customers (and no, it’s not just the meatballs!). Their storage solutions are well designed, durable and relatively cheap for the products you are getting. This is why amongst others, IKEA Trofast storage system for children's toys is my go-to. You can pick different shapes and sizes, which fit a different number of drawers, all of which can easily be reused as your children get older. The larger drawers are great for dressing up clothes, dolls and train sets, whilst the shallower drawers can come into their own when children start to collect small dolls with small accessories to go with it or different sets of building blocks that need to be kept separate.
Not only can you buy narrower sets which take up less floor space than the deeper version but you can also attach them to the wall creating even more playing space.
As always the ‘hack’ lists for these are never-ending. Glueing lego baseboards to the top is a fantastic idea as well as creating mini desks or stairs for beds.
Do you have any Trofast in your house? If so, what do you keep in there? Let me know in the comments or on my Instagram or Facebook page.
